In this project, I worked solo and had to wear many hats from Researcher to Designer. It was a very fun experience where I was able to create an effective website that Formed Body Sculpting Studio was able to use for their "Tennis Arms" marketing campaign.
Starting this project with research was important in order to identify the features that should be prioritized in the design. Developing probing and open questions for potential user as well as questions for stakeholders, 16 interviews were conducted to learn about the current understand of what Cool Sculpting was and how it could impact a person's body. With the stakeholders actively used CoolSculpting, it was great information to see how their experiences motivated them to start their own Cool Sculpting studio. Pain-points for Formed Body Sculpting Studio were identified, which helped me to develop a strategy for their Tennis Arms campaign.
• Users don't understand what Cool Sculpting is
• Users are unsure of the process and are skeptical if it works
• Users don't want to read a lot of formal text explaining processes
Tennis Arms was designed to make Cool Sculpting simple to understand, showcase benefits , and build trust that Cool Sculpting is the answer.
• Simple steps walking users through the Cool Sculpting process
• Showcasing benefits to give reassurance to users
• Simple Booking flow
I started designing the website with modern, neutral tones. As I did more research during the iteration process, I found that a warm and bright tone gave the message that Cool sculpting is warm and welcoming. Something unknown and foreign can often feel daunting and scary, which is an emotional typically associated with cooler tones. By sticking with a warm-toned color scheme, the thought was to make a foreign idea comfortable and inviting to potential users.
A user persona was created after interviews were conducted to find the target user for this product. I tailored the photos used to reflect the User Persona, which was a middle-aged, tennis-playing woman.
